Scott Rocklage began his career in science by studying Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry for his studies. He then followed up this education by attending the University of Massachusetts Institute of Technology to acquire a PhD in Chemistry, earning him the title of Doctor. During this time, he completed research in Richard Schrock’s laboratory, who is a respected Noble Prize winner.
Dr. Rockland then joined 5AM Ventures in 2003, and became a Managing Partner just one year later. This was likely due to his thirty years of healthcare management experience. His experience includes impressive moments such as making strategic contributions to the FDA approval of Omniscan, Telescan, and Cubicin. He has also helped get many prescription drug candidates into clinical trials.
In addition to being Managing Partner at 5AM Ventures and receiving recognition for numerous healthcare contributions, he has also served as Chief Executive Officer for Cubist Pharmaceuticals and Nycomed Salutar.
